In the Rotterdam Metro ( subway ) travellers all have their own thoughts and most of them are completely in their own world. Even when travelling together they form a closed group from the rest of the train.

With these portraits i like to show the contrast between the crowdy train and the individuality of their worlds.

First i observe and take a picture. After i begin the conversion and ask for their permission in return for a print.

It really surprised me how many photographed people actually liked to see themselves on such a way.
